(FREDERICKSBURG, VA) MANARC, Borne the Battle thrift store and non-profit organization celebrates one year anniversary Sunday, August 30 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m at 107 William Street. The thrift store will be offering a 20% discount to all customers.

MANARC will be serving complimentary refreshments and appetizers the day of the celebration. Appetizers will be provided by executive chef Christopher Henshall with Passion Fed Cuisine and there will be live music.

Over the past year, MANARC, Borne the Battle has been operating on donations from the community with the express purpose of providing support to local established Veterans organizations to improve the level of support to Veterans. MANARC-“Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force, Reserve and Coast Guard”—opened its doors in September of 2014 with a mission to support Veterans.

MANARC has donated a combined $4,000 to the Semper Fi Fund, Veterans Moving Forward, Veterans on Board and VFW Post 3103 in the past year. Deborah Franks, CEO and fonder of MANARC continues to partner with businesses to raise funds to improve the level of veteran support.

“This past year has gone by fast, we have been very busy with the thrift store moving inventory in and out. We have had several successful events and have accomplished our goal to raise funds for local veterans organizations. We are very happy with all the success and the support we have received from the community,” said Franks.

Franks welcomes anyone in the community to volunteer their time at the store and continues to accept donated items daily. For more information on MANARC, please visit http://www.manarcgives.org and follow their Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/manarcthriftstore

Peterson Randall Public Relations Celebrates One Year in Business

Myandi Peterson, CEO of Peterson Randall Public Relations received her LLC on June 23, 2014. Peterson launched her business by partnering with Smile Train and creating a charitable opportunity called Fredericksburg Dining For Smiles. Fredericskburg area restaurants and community members have come together and donated enough funds to Smile Train to change the lives and smiles of 12 children forever.  Read more at http://www.smiletrain.org/blog/community-fundraisers/Fredericksburg-Dining-For-Smiles.html

In 2004, Peterson had moved to Savannah, Georgia after graduating with a B.S. in Communications from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.  Marjorie Young, CEO of Carriage Trade Public Relations hired Peterson as a freelance public relations coordinator where she gained hands on experience in the public relations world. She left Savannah in 2005 and moved to Florida and thereafter to Fredericksburg, Virginia. Last July, after Peterson launched her business, Marjorie Young & Cecilia Russo with Cecilia Russo Marketing asked Peterson to join their visibility team as a freelance public relations coordinator.

Carriage Trade Public Relations and Cecilia Russo Marketing are two reputable firms based out of Savannah, Georgia with twenty plus clients and twenty plus years of experience in the business. Peterson has the privilege and pleasure of working with a majority of their combined clients.  Businesses use their firms for reputation management and together the visibility team works on positioning clients as the authority in their field to increase their visibility in the community and online with strategic PR web strategies.  “I am honored to be a part of their team and the experience and knowledge I have gained is priceless,” said Peterson.

In the past year, Peterson has worked on establishing relationships and partnerships with the Fredericksburg community members and businesses.  She has worked on gaining credibility and a reputation by donating her time and services to local non-profits, political campaigns and events.  Peterson is currently partnered with several local Fredericksburg area businesses and handles their public relations and marketing needs.  “My goal and focus is to help these businesses increase visibility through opportunities and more importantly charitable opportunities”, said Peterson.

Peterson is humbled and thankful for a successful first year in business. She loves having a business that not only allows her to use her education and talents, but that allows her to continue to be a stay at home to raise her children. “I look forward to the next year in business.  I hope to establish more partnerships and continue to help my clients increase visibility in the community.”

TESTIMONIAL:

“As the President of the Board of Directors of MANARC Borne the Battle a non-profit thrift store in downtown Fredericksburg VA that supports local veteran organizations I have been working directly with Myandi Peterson from Peterson Randall Public Relations for the past year as she leads the marketing and public relations efforts for MANARC.  Being a 28 year career Marine I am extremely impressed with Myandi’ s initiative and dedication to her clients. She has developed a vast network of marketing relationships and goes out of her way to support her individual client needs above and beyond what is expected. In fact, because of her superior performance in marketing and public relations we have recently expanded her contract to include website management and the creation of a newsletter. I highly recommend Myandi and Peterson Randall Public Relations for your marketing and public relations needs.”

-Bob Danko, President of the Board of Directors of MANARC
