(FREDERICKSBURG, VA)- MANARC, Borne the Battle, a non-profit organization and thrift store established to support veterans in the Greater Fredericksburg region, located on 107 William St. will continue accepting drop-off donations during the William St. construction project. The city plans to close – the 100 block of William St. to replace sewage lines from March 9th through the 16th.
Deborah Franks, CEO and founder of MANARC has met with the city and has come up with a plan to continue accepting donations from the community. “The best option is to park on Sophia Street on the side of Kickshaw’s grocery store and to park on the left and walk it up the sidewalk. The City will be designating this area as a temporary loading zone during the sewer work. They can also park on Caroline Street if there is a spot,” said Franks.
MANARC thrift store will have two volunteers present to help community members with their drop-off donations during the road closure. “We will use a hand truck to bring in furniture from Sophia Street or from the corner of Caroline Street,” said Franks.
MANARC thrift store encourages the community to get a head start on their spring cleaning and to donate unwanted items to help support local veterans in the community. “The thrift store is in need of small kitchen sets, love seats, chairs and accent pieces,” said Franks.
MANARC has received their 501( C ) 3 nonprofit status with the Internal Revenue Service and can provide a receipt for items and funds donated.
