(FREDERICKSBURG, VA)- Hard Times Four Mile Fork will be hosting, ‘Animal House’ benefiting The Fredericksburg Regional SPCA on Sat. Nov. 8th. Tailgate Down, a high energy country rock band from Southeast Virginia will be performing for the event at 9:30 p.m. There will be a door donation amount starting at $7 and all proceeds will go directly to The Fredericksburg Regional SPCA.
The Fredericksburg Regional SPCA is a non-profit, No-Kill humane organization dedicated to the principle that every life is unique and worthy of protection. As a local leader in humane care and education, the Fredericksburg SPCA’s mission is to tackle the problem of pet overpopulation through education, adoption, rehabilitation and spay/neuter.
The organization saves the lives of many homeless animals each year and cares for approximately 400 cats and dogs daily. The Fredericksburg SPCA is not affiliated with any other animal welfare organization, they are a independent No-Kill shelter that must raise 100% of our annual budget. Tailgate Down is a high energy rock band from Southeast Virginia and have been performing for ten years. The band continues to build a strong fan base with over 3,000 Facebook followers. They have developed a strong following from Chesapeake through Richmond, Virginia and are known for performing their original music.
Supporting many of the National Acts that come through the region, they continue to receive positive feedback for their live performance. (FREDERICKSBURG, VA) The Rite Aid Foundation presented a $10,000 Kid Cents grant to Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving children who are victims of severe abuse through prevention, education and intervention. The grant was in celebration of an enhancement to The Rite Aid Foundation’s Kid Cents program, an in-store round up program that supports nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of children.
The presentation took place Wednesday, September 17 at 10 a.m. at the Rite Aid pharmacy located at 10100 Jefferson David Highway in Fredericksburg. Today, The Foundation announced it was taking charitable giving to the next level by letting members of the company’s wellness+ program will now have the ability to designate their rounded up change to one of the 205 approved Kid Cents charities on http://www.kidcents.com.
Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center provides child abuse victims with a child friendly, community oriented, facility-based program in which professionals from multiple agencies come together to address the child’s abuse. Safe Harbor works to address the abuse in such a way that it honors the child’s need for safety, dignity and privacy. Thus reducing the trauma and preventing further victimization of the child.
Safe Harbor Child Advocacy was founded in May 2009 and is dedicated to servicing Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George and Caroline county. The center greatly relies on supporters, volunteers and donations to keep this safe haven for these young victims of abuse operating.
